Cannes Lions is over for another year, and we can finally reveal our #BigInCannes interactive competition which we created in collaboration with the dynamite Ogilvy London & Clear Channel UK.
#BigInCannes is a mobile interactive competition which invited Cannes Lions attendees to pit their creative talents against 12,000 fellow festival-goers, and create their own ad headlines, to appear as a live digital out-of-home ad on ‘Le Grand Screen.’
To enter, participants simply needed to visit the mobile-friendly website www.bigincannes.com and pick from a series of marker pen-style Vine animations - created exclusively for Cannes by jelly London’s Hannah Warren, Damien Weighill and in-house animation team, jelly Kitchen.
Each animation featured a real brand from a selection including Unilever, Nestle and General Motors. Users then simply composed their headline and submitted. Cannes delegates could go to the site and vote for their favourite ads, with the most popular being showcased on #LeGrandScreen and seen by an audience of the most creative minds in the world.
Ogilvy were finally able to reveal their partnership with jelly London and Clear Channel on the last day of the festival.
