Supernonsense

David Buisan has been commissioned to craft an illustration to accompany an Esquire opinion piece about how ‘Comic-book geeks have invaded Hollywood and turned mainstream movies into an endless parade of overblown, juvenile drivel’. Provocative Writer, Kevin Maher thinks that they must be stopped before it’s too late. So David created this ‘Supernonsense’ double page opener for the article of a giant nerd complete with Star Trek t-shirt smashing up Hollywood.

Intended to be satirical with the likes of Thor hammering his own ‘named’ star into the walk of fame and Star Ship Enterprise blasting lasers whilst the hills flame up in the background, the art director let David run with the theme and use a deliberately sci-fi comic book colour palette.
