Christmas, the Swedish way from jelly Kitchen for Volvo

Mon 22 Dec 2014

We’ve got a sneak preview for you today…

jelly kitchen was asked by Swedish car manufacturer Volvo to create four short Christmas Vines. Each Vine needed to work individually, and as part of a bigger story when brought together on the 23rd December.

We enlisted jelly Kitchen artist James Boast to create the artwork, and the animators at jelly Kitchen worked their magic to animate James’s illustrations, and bring them to life.

Using a combination of digital and stop motion, the jelly Kitchen team decided to tell the story of a Swedish Christmas using the Volvo V60 as a reoccurring feature in each scene.

Each vine had its own individual narrative, starting with choosing the perfect Christmas tree, decorating the house with Christmas decorations, driving through snowy scenes with a car full of festive goodies, and finally the coming together of family and friends at Christmas time.

Keep an eye on the jelly London Twitter and Facebook to see the project in its entirety.
