TFL x Santander

Chervelle was approached by TFL to create a series of illustrations following their Cycle Super Highway route, showing key locations in London along the way. The twenty-one individual illustrations formed a poster and a turn-by-turn map for cyclists to use to help them follow a route through London.

Chervelle told us a bit about her inspiration for the project:

“With the TfL Santander project, I really wanted to capture the rose-tinted glasses feeling of a summer weekend adventure in London. I wanted to make it feel like you’re going out with friends, having a romantic escape, or spending time with the family. I kept the colours fairly limited, and overall I wanted it to feel very familiar, kind of how you flip through a photo album of all the places you’ve been to and the silly things you did whilst exploring a city! Each little scene has a moment worth remembering, such as getting engaged, exploring the museums, or even just having a wonderful cycle exploring the riches of London.”
